  • The Mason Dixon Blaze U12 softball team finished a very successful season by winning the eighth annual Busch Gardens Classic in Williamsburg, Va., on Aug. 7-8. Rotz out of U.S. Amateur

SEATTLE -- Chambersburg graduate Clayton Rotz failed in another effort to reach the match play portion of the United States Amateur.

Rotz, a senior at LSU, carded an 81 on Tuesday in the final round of the 36-hole medal play qualifier for a two-day score of 10-over-par 158. His score Tuesday came on the tough Chambers Bay Course after an opening-round 77 at Home Course on Monday.

WACO champion Chris Baloga, of Towson, Md., shot 82-74--156 and also missed the cut.
