WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - William Frederick Jones, 91, of Homewood Cottages, Williamsport, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.

He was born Aug. 11, 1919, in Parkville, Md., to the late Harvey Geist and Anna Knell Jones.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Marie Krumm Jones, on March 3, 2006.

He was a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and attended Loyola College to pursue and receive the chartered property and casualty underwriter certificate.

He was employed by Ohio Casualty Insurance Co., Baltimore, Md., branch office until retiring in 1984.

He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.

He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Taylor Avenue, Baltimore.

He was a member of the Railsplitters Society 84th Infantry Division Inc.

Survivors include daughter, Stephanie M. Nicodemus and her husband, Phillip, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and granddaughter, Juliet C. McIntosh and her husband, Tom, of Easton, Md.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John D. Cozzoli officiating. Military graveside services will be provided by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown.
