MAUGANSVILLE, Md. - John Senuta, 88, of 13906 Green Mountain Drive, Maugansville, Md., passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Saturday, Oct. 1, 1921, in Pine Hill, Pa., he was the son of the late John Senuta Sr. and the late Kathryn Wawryn Senuta.

John was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps as a staff sergeant in the Pacific Theatre.


He was employed with Mack Trucks Inc., retiring in 1987 after 24 years of service.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Golden Bulldogs, VFW Post 1936 and Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, and served as Post Commander of VFW Post 5107 in Franklinboro, Pa., from 1960 to 1961.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann S. Senuta; one daughter, Patricia Senuta Turner of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, John Robert Senuta of Frederick, Md.; and grandchildren, Jason, Colin, Ashtyn Mignon, Ben and Courtney.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Memorial services will be Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, Md.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26.
