The Washington County Sheriff's Office will host a Citizens Police Academy beginning Oct. 5.
The program will run for 11 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30, with two Saturday sessions of practical instruction.
Hands-on activities will include exercises using the Fire Arms Training Simulator and training in citizens emergency response techniques. Classes will be held at the Washington County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division.
