Sheredy has more than 20 years of experience in marketing. Before joining Power Marketing, he was director of operations/marketing consultant at Watchman Protective Services Inc. in College Park, Md., and sales and marketing director at Harold H. Martz & Sons Inc. in Frederick, Md.

Sheredy received a bachelor's degree in business accounting from St. Francis University.

Hospice of the Panhandle

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Andrea Allen, M.D., recently was named medical director of Hospice of the Panhandle and assistant professor of family medicine at the West Virginia University School of Medicine's Eastern Division's Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center.


In addition to her patient care services, Allen will help train resident physicians and medical students as an assistant professor at the WVU School of Medicine's Eastern Division.

Allen has 14 years of experience as a hospice physician and medical director. She also is a nationally recognized hospice and palliative care educator, having presented at numerous national conferences on the topics of pain management, hospice and other end-of-life care issues.

WVUH-East Behavioral Health

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two psychiatrists recently opened West Virginia University Hospitals-East Behavioral Health, an outpatient practice in the Dorothy A. McCormack Center on the campus of City Hospital.

o Christopher J. Murphy, M.D., has been in practice since 2003.

Murphy is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C., and the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt in Baltimore.

o Antonio S. Garcia, M.D., recently completed his residency in adult general psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine-Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens, N.Y. During that time, he served as chief resident in the Department of Psychiatry.

Harpers Ferry Family Medicine

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Eleanor A. Smith, M.D., has joined the staff of Harpers Ferry Family Medicine and the medical staff of West Virginia University Hospitals-East's Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

In addition to her patient care services, Smith will help train resident physicians and medical students as an assistant professor at the WVU School of Medicine's Eastern Division.

Smith is a graduate of the WVU School of Medicine and attended her third and fourth years of medical school at the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. She recently completed a pediatrics residency at the WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va.

Keller Stonebraker Insurance

Kent Reynolds, CIC, of Keller Stonebraker Insurance Inc. recently was recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, a leading national insurance professional organization.

Reynolds was recognized for 15 years of participation as a designated CIC, which requires annual completion of advanced education and training.

Roxbury Correctional Institution

Brian Duffey, an officer on the 3-11 shift, was named Employee of the Month for August at Roxbury Correctional Institution.

Duffey was selected because of his response to an altercation. When several inmate-on-inmate assaults were taking place, Duffey notified staff of the situation via institutional radio quickly and calmly. Because of his swift reaction, staff was able to identify eight inmates who were involved in the altercation. Three homemade weapons were recovered.

Duffey has been employed by the State of Maryland since 2001.

Maryland Correctional Training Center

Sgt. Jeffrey Bradshaw was named Employee of the Month for August at the Maryland Correctional Training Center (MCTC).

Bradshaw organized and managed the 4-12 shift's in-service training for 2010, a task previously assigned to a senior supervisor. He ensured that the in-service training was completed with very little guidance or supervision.

Bradshaw has been employed by the MCTC since November 2000.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Peggy Hays was named Agent of the Month for July at the Greencastle office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA.

Hays was recognized in the three years and over in the business category.

The award is given based on the number of listings taken, sales made and closed sales; attendance at Realtor functions; and continuing education classes completed.
