Learn relationship skills



WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A relationship skills class from the "Friendliest Place in Town" program will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Waynesboro YMCA.

Music program opens at arts school



A music open house will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery, 4 W. Franklin St., Hagers-town. The open house will celebrate the grand opening of the new music program at C.S.A.G.I. The music program offers classes for home-schooled children, and an after-school classes. Community guest day



New Joy Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist Church will hold its Community Guest Day Saturday, Aug. 28, at the church, 812 W. Winter St., Hagerstown. Church fundraiser



MAUGANSVILLE - Zion Baptist Church will host a crab feast from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at UAW Hall, 18131 Maugans Ave., Maugansville. Art for the Animals Challenge



The fifth annual Art for the Animals Challenge sponsored by Howard's Arts & Frames, is under way. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.

To participate, artists buy a 5-inch-by-7-inch canvas from Howard's Arts & Frames for a $1 donation to the animal shelter, paint a picture on the canvas, return it to the store where it will framed.

The popular choice painting will win a $50 Howard's gift certificate.

Canvas entry deadline is Saturday, Oct. 2. Silent auction runs Saturday, Oct. 9, to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, with popular choice voting from Saturday, Oct. 9 , through Saturday, Oct. 16.

The awards reception will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Howard's Arts & Frames, 1256 Dual Highway, Hagerstown. To place phone bids, call 301-733-2722.
