Library to host workshop on grantseeking Sept. 8

Washington County Free Library will host a free workshop on grantseeking basics for nonprofit organizations Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m.

The workshop titled "Grantseeking Basics" will be led by Harry Sachs, Business and Government Information Center librarian, and is an introductory class for beginners that will provide instruction in foundation research and identification of potential funders.

Registration is required and limited. Call the library at 301-739-3250, ext. 136 to register.

Caroline Herbert, manager, Multimedia and On-Demand Training for the Foundation Center's Washington Office, will cover:

o what you need to have in place before you seek a grant

o what you need to know about grantmakers and how nonprofits are supported

o how you identify funding partners

o resources for your grantseeking efforts
