Vehicle strikes pedestrian on Potomac Street



A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in front of 160 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown, according to a 911 dispatcher.

The male victim, who was struck about 5:30 p.m., did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, the dispatcher said.

Further details were not available late Wednesday.

Hagerstown Police respond to incidents



The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents, according to spokeswoman Barbara Pickett:

Tuesday, Aug. 17

o Destruction of property was reported at Best Western-Venice on Dual Highway.

o Theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of Outer Drive.

o Vandalism was reported in the 400 block of South Cannon Avenue.

o A theft was reported at an apartment in the 200 block of Frederick Street.

o Fraud was reported in the 300 block of Central Avenue.

o A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of Bramly Drive. Two unlocked vehicles were entered.

o A female was reported missing from West Franklin Street. She was wearing a white blouse and a black skirt.

o A man was assaulted by his girlfriend in the 200 block of South Locust Street.

o A suspicious male was seen in the area of 1417 Kensington Avenue around 1 a.m. over the last several days. The man was believed to be between 40- and 45-years old.

o A man was arrested at Salem Avenue Auto Exchange on Salem Avenue and charged with attempted fourth-degree burglary. The man was arrested a second time and charged with attempted burglary at Salem Avenue Auto Exchange after being released on the first charge.

o A man was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the first block of East Franklin Street.

o A second-degree assault was reported at Famous Footwear on Garland Groh Boulevard.

o A theft of a washing machine was reported in the 400 block of South Potomac Street.

o A second-degree assault was reported in the 300 block of Sunbrook Lane.

o A machete was confiscated from an individual in the first block of South Potomac Street.

Incidents reported in Washington County



The following incidents were reported Tuesday by the Washington County Sheriff's Office:

o Yellow scooter with saddle bags stolen in the 13600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

o Solar lights stolen in the 16700 block of Mount Williams Circle.

o Rear window shot out of vehicle in the 13900 block of Weaver Avenue.

o Vehicles damaged and batteries stolen from a construction site on Varsity Lane.

o Shoplifter reported at Martin's Foods on North Pointe Drive.

o Playstation 3 and cash stolen from a vehicle at 20900 Twin Springs Drive.

o Shoplifter reported at Spencer's Gifts at Valley Mall.

o 30 hats stolen from Lids/Hat World at Prime Outlets.

o Tools stolen and tires slashed on South Conococheague Street.

o Residence broken into in the 12200 block of Wild Rose Lane.

Franklin County Emergency Services report



The following incidents were reported Tuesday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

o At 5:27 p.m., an auto accident was reported in the 12700 block of Fort Loudon Road in Peters Township.

o At 7:16 p.m., an auto accident was reported on East Catherine Street in Chambersburg.

o At 8:57 p.m., odor of gas in a residence at 2303 Springfield Drive in Guilford Township.

Waynesboro Police respond to calls



The Waynesboro Police Department responded to the following incidents:

Monday

o At 5:33 p.m., an auto accident was reported in the unit block of Northeast Avenue

Sunday

o At 10:56 a.m., an auto accident at the intersection of Clayton Avenue and East Fifth Street.

o At 3:33 p.m., criminal mischief to a motor vehicle was reported in the 300 block of Viewpoint Way.

Saturday

o At 7:04 p.m., a domestic incident was reported on Philips Avenue.
