One Mountain Foundation to host 'Barefoot in the Park'

CASCADE - One Mountain Foundation will host the Blue Ridge Theater Guild in its production of the romantic comedy "Barefoot in the Park" by Neil Simon.

The play will be presented in a dinner theater format at the Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., fire hall on Friday and Saturday evenings, Oct. 1 and 2, and Sunday, Oct. 3. Doors for the evening performances will open at 6:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 7, with the show starting at 8. For the Sunday matinee, doors will open at 12:30 p.m., light fare will be served at 1, with the show starting at 2.

Tickets for the evening performances cost $40 per person and include a buffet dinner provided by Mountain Gate Family Restaurant. Tickets for the matinee performance cost $25 per person and include a light fare. This is the third season of having the guild back home on the Cascade/Blue Ridge Summit mountaintop. The guild is an award-winning local theater production company with this production directed by Cathy Snesrud of Hagerstown.

The fire company donates the use of the building and Alice and her committee, with the help of the Blue Ridge Garden Club, turn the fire hall into a theater for the weekend. Proceeds go to fund future One Mountain Foundation activities and advance expenses for the sixth annual Mountaintop Heritage Days to be held June 25 and 26, 2011, in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and Cascade.
