WASHINGTON COUNTY -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office will offer a Citizens Police Academy beginning Oct. 5.
The program will run for 11 consecutive Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will include two Saturday sessions of practical instruction, according to a flier for the course.
Classes will be at the Washington County Sheriff's Office patrol division.
Hands-on activities will include exercises using a firearms training simulator and training in citizens emergency response techniques.
