The State Highway Administration on Sunday will temporarily close one lane of westbound U.S. 40 (Dual Highway) as part of the project to improve the intersection of U.S. 40 and Edgewood Drive.
The right lane of westbound U.S. 40 from the Susquehanna Bank office to just west of Denny's restaurant will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday and will reopen no later than 3 p.m. Monday, the SHA said. The temporary closure will allow construction crews to pave the newly constructed third lane.
Working hours were extended to allow crews to complete the work in the shortest time possible, minimizing inconvenience to adjacent business and homes, the SHA said.
Access to businesses and homes will be maintained throughout construction.
Anyone with questions about traffic operations on U.S. 40 may call 301-729-8400 or 1-800-760-7138.
