Call for entries for Living United show

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- United Way of Franklin County is teaming up with the Council for the Arts to create a traveling showcase of local artists.

Showcase organizers invite Franklin and Fulton county residents ages 14 and older to submit art in various media that expresses the concept of the United Wat's slogan, Living United.

Submissions must be delivered between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 9 through 11 to M&T Bank in Chambersburg.

Luhrs announces season

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center at Shippensburg University announces its 2010-11 season schedule.

This season's highlight concerts include Randy Travis (Sept. 17), The Commodores (Sept. 24), Neil Sedaka (Oct. 2), Ethan Bortnick and His Musical Time Machine (Oct. 7), The Charlie Daniels Band (Oct. 23), An Evening with Amy Grant (Nov. 4), Doobie Brothers (Nov. 17), Jim Brickman's 15th Anniversary Holiday Concert (Dec. 2), Johnny Mathis (May 19), and The Lettermen (June 4). Featured musicals this season include "Spamalot" (Oct. 31).
