Three-car crash on Md. 66 occurred when traffic slowed

A three-car crash Wednesday morning on Md. 66 south of Chewsville Road occurred when traffic slowed for unknown reasons, according to Maryland State Police.

Trooper 1st Class A.L. Smith wrote in a news release that the accident occured at about 6:30 a.m.

A 1993 Honda Civic driven by Sean Michael Ott, 26, of Smithsburg, struck the rear of a 2003 Ford Escape driven by Joshua Adam Markowitz, 24, of Waynesboro, Pa., police said.

Markowitz's car went off the road on the right shoulder, up an embankment and struck the top of a 2007 Isuzu truck driven by Andrew Robert James Doddington, 45, of Smithsburg, police said.

There were no injuries, police said.
