HCC hands out awards at annual convocation

Hagerstown Community College held its eighth annual honors convocation in May in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center.

The event recognized special awards, Phi Theta Kappa membership, graduation honors, Maryland Zeta Chapter of Lambda Nu for Radiological Sciences membership and dean's list honors.

Following remarks from HCC President Guy Altieri, attendees heard from Judith Oleks, vice president of academic affairs; Michael Parsons, professor of sociology; and two students, Amanda C. England and Matthew A. Griffith.

The awards were presented by Robert "Bo" Myers, director, athletics and leisure studies, and Frances Cade, chair, behavioral and social sciences/business division, and recognized by Altieri and the HCC board of trustees.
