Chambersburg woman killed in Perry County accident

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. -- A Chambersburg, Pa., woman died Friday after her car was struck by an oncoming car in Perry County, police said.

Christine A. Geesaman, 38, was killed, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Newport.

She was driving east on Pa. 850 when another car hit her 1995 Ford Escort LX at about 10:45 p.m., police said in a news release.

Todd E. Barnes, 30, of Millerstown, Pa., was driving west on Pa. 850. His car, a 2008 Pontiac G6, crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the front of Geesaman's car, police said.

The news release said no charges had been filed and police were investigating.

Barnes was listed in fair condition at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center on Saturday night.

A passenger in Geesaman's car -- Jody L. Everson, 42, of Chambersburg -- was listed in critical condition at Hershey Medical Center on Sunday morning.

Police said Geesaman used a lap belt, Everson used a lap and shoulder belt, and Barnes did not use a seat belt.
