Grier in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Hagerstown's Ashley Grier was slotted in as the third alternate entry in the Duramed Futures Tour Pennsylvania Classic and shot a 3-over-par 75 in Friday's opening round.

Grier's front nine card had eight straight pars and a birdie on No. 9 for a 35. On the back nine, a double bogey and two bogeys led to a 40.

Grier will play in today's second round with a 9:40 tee time off the first tee with Jessy Tang, of Florida, and Veronica Felibert, of Venezuela.


Melissa Eaton-Jackson, of South Africa, led the field with a 6-under-par 66 covering the 6,319-yard course at the Felicita Mountain Resort.
