Mary Virginia Henry, 93, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Charleston, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Somerford Place, Hagerstown.

Born Tuesday, Oct. 17, 1916, in Alderson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Roy Frederick Henry and Walkie Virginia Hogsett Henry.

She graduated from Alderson High School. She was employed with Dupont for 44 years as a bookkeeper. She was a member for more than 50 years at Christ Church Methodist, W.Va. She was also a member of Dupont Women and The Woman's Club of Charleston.


She is survived by niece, Karla and husband, Robert D. Davis; two nephews, Carl William Kappel and wife, Katy, and Michael Lee Kappel and wife, Kimberly; great-nieces and great-nephews, David, Pam and Lauren Davis, Katy and Craig Harne, Brian and Ashley Kappel, Kevin Kappel and Justin Kappel; and good friend, Joan Roush.

She was preceded in death by sister, Marguerite Henry Kappel.

Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Alderson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742, to Christ Church Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St., Charleston, WV 25301 or to a charity of one's choice.
