Book sale

Summer festival



The sixth annual Summer Festival includes children's games, water park, petting zoo, classic car cruise-in, arts and crafts vendors, magician and bake sale. Balkan music concert



Ethnic Balkan musicians perform the music of the cultures of the Balkan region and Eastern Europe. 5:30 p.m. Saturday, concert, preceded by a jam for any instruments. Civil War encampment



Civil War re-enactors will present the Battle of Wilson's Creek, also known as the Battle of Oak Hills, fought on Aug. 10, 1861. The 2nd South Carolina String Band will perform. Lions Club community fair



A week of carnival rides, concerts, karaoke for cash and more. Activities begin Sunday with a Mercersburg Community Band concert and fireworks. Daily schedule includes amusement rides from 6:30 to 10 p.m. for $15. Performances by Runaway Train on Monday; karaoke with cash prizes Tuesday; Spectrum and Lindy Hop Dancers on Wednesday; The Hello Strangers on Thursday; Debonaire Band on Friday; New Country and cash giveaway on Saturday, Aug. 14. Taste of the Garden



Foods from the garden will include heirloom variety tomatoes, melons, squashes, herbs and more. There will be information on preserving food from the garden.
