Golf tournament Aug. 13 to benefit Humane Society

The Humane Society of Washington County will hold the third annual Puttin' for Paws Golf Tournament at Black Rock Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 13.

The tournament will be a captain's choice best-ball scramble format. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. It costs $75 for individual players and $300 for foursomes.

The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded at a luncheon following the tournament.

The tournament is co-hosted by the animal shelter and Greg and Ruth Smith of What a Tan.

Last year's tournament drew 68 golfers.
