God called home his son Steven Lee Kendall, 60, on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010.

Born Monday, Aug. 8, 1949, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Lawrence Edward Kendall and the late Mamie Idella Hiser Kendall.

He graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1967.

He was employed with Hagerstown Floors for 38 1/2 years.

He was a member of the North Side Mennonite Church and the Pine Ridge Hunt Club.

He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah Ann Kendall; two daughters, Charlotte Marie Wise and husband, Steve, of Warsaw, Ind., and Katie Idella Kendall of Hagerstown; son, Steven Lawrence Kendall of Hagerstown; two sisters, Delores Witmer and husband, Richard, of Greencastle, Pa., and Segerna I. Davis and husband, Francis, of Mercersburg, Pa.; granddaughter, Carlie Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Frances Graham; and brother, Lawrence Charles Kendall.

Family will receive friends at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD 21742, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4.

Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at 10 a.m. from North Side Mennonite Church, 716 Locust St., Hagerstown, MD 21740, with Pastor Gary Zook officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
