Pediatric Screening Day

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia University Hospitals-East will sponsor a community pediatric screening day from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6 in the rehab services department located in the McCormack Center on the City Hospital campus.

The free testing is aimed at detecting potential therapy needs in children birth to 6 years old.

Health fair

The seventh annual Walnut Street Community Health Center health fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 7 at the center, 24 N. Walnut St., Hagerstown.

There will be free health screenings, breast exams and foot exams. Other activities include a children's area with balloons, face painting and lots of games.

Health and community service vendors will also be in attendance.

Refreshments will be provided.

The event will be held rain or shine.

Open forum

HANCOCK - The Maryland Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics and the Parents' Place of Maryland will hold open forums 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at The Community Center, 126 W. High St.

The forum will discuss the barriers to providing medical homes to children with special health care needs

Laughter Yoga Club

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Laughter Yoga Club meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 25, in the library at Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 W. Commerce St.

Participants will learn how to maximize the benefits of laughter by sharing hearty extended laughter with others in a safe and joyful environment with certified instructor, Cathy Hansen. Free.
