Portion of Arlington Ave. to be closed for street work

August 02, 2010

Weather permitting, beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, work crews from Craig Paving Inc. will begin milling, patching, and replacing the existing pavement on Arlington Avenue in Hagerstown.

This work is being performed as part of the City's Pavement Preservation program.

This work will require the closure of Arlington Avenue between Marshall Street and Florida Avenue. Vehicles approaching Arlington Avenue will be forced to detour around the work area via other city streets.

Motorists approaching the work zone will encounter cones, barricades, detour signs, and other traffic control devices.

It is anticipated that the work on Arlington Avenue will be completed, and the street reopened to traffic, by 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work zone on Arlington Avenue while the closure is in effect.
