South High Athletic Boosters to meet

The South Hagerstown High School Athletic Boosters Club will meet Monday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will be near the concessions area by the gym at South High.

Reminder to parents and students:

Sports physicals are needed and paperwork must be handed in at or before the first practice.

Class of 1970

The South Hagerstown High School class of 1970 is planning its 40th reunion for Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Elks Lodge.

The reunion committee is looking for classmates.

School celebration

South Hagerstown High School will celebrate its 55th birthday in 2011. A meeting of the SHHS Alumni Association will be Thursday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. in the SHHS Media Center.

All classes are requested to send a representative to discuss the celebration.

Yard sale

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave., will hold a yard sale Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.

The church is across from South End Shopping Center.

Hagerstown Lions Club

Tuesday - Master Gardener Jane Krumpe will be the guest speaker.

Meeting canceled

Elizabethtown East Neighborhood 1st will not meet Tuesday evening due to a scheduling conflict with the National Night Out festivities at Fairgrounds Park from 6 to 8 p.m. All members are urged to attend that event.

The group will meet Tuesday for coffee at 10 a.m. at the Gourmet Goat, 41 N. Potomac St.

Discovery Station

Saturday - Norm Little, master shipbuilder of the 15-foot Titanic replica at Discovery Station, will present "Detailed Construction of the Titanic Model," 2 p.m.
