Two charged in connection with food mart robbery

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. -- A Hagerstown man and a Broad Top, Pa., man were charged Friday in connection with a Tuesday night robbery of the Blue Ridge Food Mart in Blue Ridge Summit, according to a Washington Township Police press release.

Michael Reed, 21, of 329 Linganore Ave. in Hagerstown, and Russell Runk, 24, of 4781 Railroad Ave. in Broad Top, each are charged with robbery, theft, simple assault and criminal conspiracy to commit each of those crimes, police said.

Both subjects are being held in Washington County on related charges, police said.

The robbery at the food mart at 15010 Buchanan Trail East was reported Tuesday at 9:17 a.m., police said.

Two people entered the store and demanded money from the clerk, and both displayed weapons, police said.
