Greencastle wins at Junior state tourney

PITTSBURGH -- Justin Hovey had three hits and Thomas Bowers added two hits as Greencastle Junior League defeated Horsham 5-3 on Friday at the Pennsylvania State Tournament.

Greencastle will play Greater Wyoming tonight at 8 at Robinson Township.

South Mountain: Eric Brabson 2 hits, HR; Nathan Saunders 2 hits, 3 RBIs; Cory Woodhams 2 hits.



Tom Funk, of Hagerstown, recorded his first hole-in-one on Friday at Beaver Creek Country Club.


Funk aced the 14th hole using a 7-iron from 150 yards. The shot was witnessed by Harold Axen, Bob Harshman and Rich Crampton.
