Fayetteville, Pa. - William H. "Tuck" Tasker Jr., 89, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Village of Laurel Run, where he was a resident.

Born Sept. 1, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late William H. Tasker Sr. and Grace V. Pearl Tasker.

His wife, Harriett Reynolds Spoonhour Tasker, died Oct. 25, 2009.

Tuck was a member of Brownsville Church of God.

He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, where he was a driver.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he also was well-known as an exceptional baseball "pitcher" player when he played local organized ball in the past.

He is survived by his children, Wanda, wife of Melvin Watts, of Waynesboro, Pa., Donna Rae, wife of Granville Washington, of Fayetteville, Pa., Larry Tasker, husband of Jeannie, of Chambersburg, Pa., Kay Brown of Harrisburg, Pa., Rodney Tasker and Perry Tasker, both of Fayetteville, Selena Lowe of Florida, Tracy Peyton of Waynesboro, and Barbara A. Cuff, Jackie Spoonhour and Nancy, wife of Darryl Branch, all of Fayetteville. He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.


In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Rideout; one son, Charles E. Spoonhour; one sister, Matilda Hinton; and two brothers, Edgar Tasker and Russell Hunter.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Victor Johnson and Elder Edgar Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Church of God Cemetery, Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends one hour before services.
