WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest University recognizes students who contribute a certain number of volunteer hours each semester. Service awards are given to the most outstanding students, each of whom receives a cash prize to donate to the nonprofit organization of their choice.

She also led a service trip to Honduras during spring break and participated in the City of Joy service trip to Calcutta, India, during winter break.
As her charity of choice, she selected El Hogar de Amor y Esperanza in Honduras.
