Energy pool seminar offered by Chambersburg Chamber

July 24, 2010

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Because of increasing member interest in the ChamberChoice energy pool program, the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce has scheduled an additional seminar in July. It will be held at the Chamber, 100 Lincoln Way East, at 8:30 a.m. July 29.

The seminar is for commercial customers of Allegheny Power, whose rate caps will expire on Jan. 1, 2011. The Chamber encourages members to be proactive to take advantage of this unique Chamber-member benefit, and invites representatives of other businesses and institutions to attend the seminar, too.

"We have already seen a number of our members begin to save money on their electric bills," David G. Sciamanna, Chamber of Commerce president. said in a news release.

The ChamberChoice program, in partnership with OnDemand Energy Solutions, can benefit small companies as well as large ones, according to Sciamanna. OnDemand Energy Solutions is the only consultant in Pennsylvania that offers an energy-buying pool program.

The volume of load and the consultants' experience "allows us to negotiate with suppliers for better pricing, products and flexibility," said John Bodine, OnDemand's vice president of business development. "The managed pool procures power in a manner consistent with the vision of the Pennsylvania PUC, and is a very popular option with smaller- to medium-sized chamber members desiring an even playing field with the large industrial users," Bodine said.

Chambers of Commerce in Greencastle, Pa., Shippensburg, Pa., and Waynesboro, Pa., also are participating in the program.

There is additional information on the Web site, http://www.chambersburg.org. The Web site link includes an application. People may register for the seminar by calling the Chamber at 717-264-7101.

For reference purposes, attendees should bring two of the most recent electric bills for each meter.
