Father, infant son injured in Jefferson County crash

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- A man and his infant son were taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va., after their car was involved in an accident with a tractor-trailer Friday morning at the intersection of U.S. 340 and Shepherdstown Pike, Friendship Fire Co. Lt. Mike Stillwell said.

Stillwell said the man and his son had to be freed from the car before they were taken to the hospital. He said the seriousness of their injuries was not immediately known.

The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured, Stillwell said.

West Virginia State Police assisted at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 6:45 a.m.
