CASCADE - The pastors of seven mountaintop churches will host a communitywide picnic Saturday, July 31, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Fort Ritchie Community Center in Cascade.
The purpose of the picnic is to thank the 100-plus community volunteers who worked during the recent fifth annual Mountaintop Heritage Days. Additionally, they would like to show their appreciation to those who attended the first community worship service June 27.
The offering from that worship service will be divided and presented at 12:45 p.m. to Help Hotline, a food bank serving the community and Hope Alive, a community ministry that provides safe shelter for women and children.
The pastors who participated in the worship service, which was a part of Mountaintop Heritage Days, were pleased with the response to the service by the community and churches.
