Ga. men face drug charges in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick police have charged two Georgia men with numerous drug offenses after they fled a traffic stop.

Twenty-three-year-old Torey Howell and 26-year-old Gary Howell, both of Columbus, Ga., were arrested early Monday.

Police said Gary Howell fled a vehicle driven by Torey Howell when an officer attempted to pull it over. After a short pursuit, both men were arrested.

Officers say about 10 pounds of suspected marijuana and more than 380 grams of suspected powder cocaine were found in the vehicle. Police say more suspected drugs were found in a home to which Gary Howell fled.

Tools stolen from Greene Township garage

SCOTLAND, Pa. - Police said $4,150 worth of tools were stolen from a garage in the 1300 block of Woodstock Road in Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.


The burglary occurred between Saturday and Monday when an unlocked bay door on the building was entered, state police said.

Stolen were a Stihl concrete saw, three Stihl chain saws, a full size Craftsman tool box with tools and a Hobart MIG welder.

Engagement rings stolen at Roxbury center

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Two engagement rings valued at about $500 were stolen from a woman's room at the Roxbury Treatment Center on Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The rings were stolen between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., state police said.
