Franklin County emergency calls



The following is a list of incidents that were reported to Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

Monday

o At 1:44 a.m., an automatic fire alarm was reported at 2352 Warm Spring Road in Hamilton Township.

o At 3:31 a.m., an automatic fire alarm was reported at 1122 Wayne Road in Guilford Township.

o At 5:16 a.m., a road obstruction was reported on Rocky Mountain Road North in Greene Township.

o At 5:26 a.m., an auto accident was reported at 8369 Mentzer Road in Quincy Township.

Pa. man hurt in ATV accident



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A McConnellsburg man was flown to a hospital after he fell from an all-terrain vehicle Friday night on Pa. 3005 in Fulton County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Cordell Richard Carbaugh, 21, of 447 Horton Drive, McConnellsburg, suffered major injuries when he was riding as a passenger on an ATV and fell in front of the vehicle, according to a press release from the Pennsylvania State Police. The ATV ran over Carbaugh and came to rest on top of him, police said.

Carbaugh's condition was unavailable Monday evening.

A state police spokesman said he didn't know the name of the hospital where Carbaugh was taken.

The driver of the ATV, Brittany Kayla Eader, 19, of 354 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, Pa., was not injured, police said.

Man charged with assaulting woman



FORT LITTLETON, Pa. -- A Fort Littleton man was charged with holding a gun to a woman's head Friday at a home in Dublin Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said.

Harold Ivan McMullen, 59, of Fort Littleton, was charged with one count of aggravated assault after a .22-caliber pistol was held to the woman's head, Pennsylvania State Police said in a press release. Police said the woman also was struck with an open fist.

McMullen was taken to the Franklin County Jail, police said.

Ga. men face drug charges in Frederick



FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick police have charged two Georgia men with numerous drug offenses after they fled a traffic stop.

Twenty-three-year-old Torey Howell and 26-year-old Gary Howell, both of Columbus, Ga., were arrested early Monday.

Police said Gary Howell fled a vehicle driven by Torey Howell when an officer attempted to pull it over. After a short pursuit, both men were arrested.

Officers say about 10 pounds of suspected marijuana and more than 380 grams of suspected powder cocaine were found in the vehicle. Police say more suspected drugs were found in a home that Gary Howell fled to.

Man charged in robbery of Hagerstown business



A Smithsburg man has been arrested in connection with burglary early Sunday morning at The Brew Necessity at 571 Jefferson St., Hagerstown, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.

Robert William Cole, 25, has been charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, theft less than $1,000 and malicious destruction of property greater than $500, police said in a news release.

Police, who received the call about 12:12 a.m., talked with several witnesses who said they saw a man wearing all black breaking a window at The Brew Necessity, the release said.

The man then climbed through the window, the release said.

The man was then observed exiting the window and fleeing the area on foot, police said.

Officers with the help of a canine unit began searching the area and the canine unit led officers to the area of the city golf course on East Washington Street, police said.

Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies helped in the search and found a man acting suspiciously on Richmond Street.

Officers found property that was stolen in the burglary in a common hallway in an apartment building on Richmond Street.

Deputies: Few details available on stabbing



WILLIAMSPORT -- A stabbing victim was taken to the hospital as a result of an assault in progress early Sunday on Brookmeade Circle, according to a 911 dispatcher.

Several people were reported to have knives in the incident, which was reported about 2:30 a.m., the dispatcher said.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the call but a department spokesman said Sunday he did not have any more details.
