K&K Hearing Associates

Kim Keller, owner of K&K Hearing Associates, recently was honored with the Heart & Spirit Award at the Audibel Business Summit in Minneapolis.

Keller received the award for being the dealer who did the most to better the Audibel network in 2009.

Keller has been in the hearing industry for more than three decades and is board certified in hearing instrument sciences. He is a member of the International Hearing Society and is president of The Hearing Society of Maryland, Washington D.C., and Delaware.


The following employees of Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown recently were honored.

- Dwight Wingert, a correctional officer captain, was named Supervisor of the Quarter for July to September.

Wingert recently rewrote MCI-H's emergency plans manual in a timely manner with diligence to the perfection of the manual, according to an MCI-H press release.

- Gary Wolfe, a correctional officer II, was named Employee of the Month for July.


Wolfe has worked in Control Center No. 2 for the past three years. In this role, her performs a number of duties, including assisting with inmate releases, parole retakes, emergency medical trips, contraband control and other security functions. He also is often called on to work as the adjustment officer.

WVUH-East Pulmonology

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Phillip B. Aguila, M.D., and Feroz F. Noori, M.D., recently opened WVUH-East Pulmonology in the McCormack Center, Suite 3300, on the City Hospital campus in Martinsburg.

Aguila and Noori are available for pulmonology consultations and to assist with the care of critically ill patients at City Hospital and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Aguila has worked as an attending physician in Florida since July 2004. He most recently held the position of section chief of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Saint Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

Aguila is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Noori worked part time as an intensivist at JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J., for the past three years.

Noori recently completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Saint Michaels Medical Center in Newark, N.J., where he completed his residency in internal medicine.

The Columbia Bank

Michael S. Zampelli recently was appointed to the regional board of The Columbia Bank's Hagerstown Trust Division.

Zampelli is chief operating officer of Antietam Health Services Inc., a subsidiary of Washington County Health System Inc.

Zampelli has been active in the community, serving as a board member for Walnut Street Community Health Center, Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Community Rescue Service, Horizon Goodwill, Mason-Dixon Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Washington County Economic Development Commission. He also serves as a board member and treasurer for Pen Mar Development Corp.

C. Basil Grossnickle Insurance

Two new employees recently joined the staff of C. Basil Grossnickle Insurance.

- Emily Mallery comes to the agency from the banking industry.

Mallery recently obtained her Maryland Property and Casualty Insurance license.

Mallery is a graduate of Middletown (Md.) High School and lives in Clear Spring.

- S. Gale Brown has been servicing and selling property and casualty insurance since 1988.

Brown's expertise is in the business and commercial side of insurance.

Brown lives in Williamsport.

Bodyworks Massage Center

Edward Triplett, NCTMB, LMT, recently joined the staff of The Bodyworks Massage Center.

Triplett is nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork. He also is a licensed massage therapist in Maryland.

Triplett specializes in Swedish, deep tissue and myofascial massage techniques.

Triplett is a 2009 graduate of the Central Maryland School of Massage in Frederick, Md., and earned a bachelor of arts degree in exercise physiology from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.

Triplett is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Susan Snowden, an attorney and shareholder at Martin & Seibert LC, recently was elected to the Board of Governors of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia (DTCWV).

Snowden will serve for a three-year term. She is a member of the organization's Employment Law Committee, having served as a speaker to the group on topics such as the West Virginia Wage Payment Collection Act and the federal WARN Act.

Snowden recently was selected as a Super Lawyer, making her fourth year of recognition with the organization.

Snowden practices in the area of employment and insurance law with an emphasis on class-action defense.

Snowden serves on numerous nonprofit boards and is chairwoman of the Jefferson Memorial Hospital and City Hospital foundations.
