Hagerstown wins pair of PONY playoff games

YOUTH BASEBALL



PONY 14 West Region

Hagerstown A 14, Chambersburg National 1

Dylan Stouffer had three hits, including a home run, to lead the Hagerstown A All-Stars over Chambersburg National.

Dereck Herbert had two hits, including a home run, for Hagerstown. Andrew Yacyk had four hits, Austin Stone homered and John Britton and Nick Sauble combined for eight strikeouts.

PONY 13 West Region

Hagerstown A 22, Canfield 3

BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Tyler Anders hit two home runs, including a grand slam, to lead Hagerstown A past Canfield, Ohio, for the winners' bracket title on Saturday in the PONY 13 East Zone West Region Tournament.

Anders added a two-run homer and finished with six RBIs. Hagerstown, which hit four homers in the game, advances to play the winner of Saturday night's Canfield-Chambersburg game today at 1:30 p.m. for the championship.

Canfield or Chambersburg would have to defeat Hagerstown twice to win the title.

Timmy Hartsock added a two-run homer and combined with Stephen Ashby to pitch a three-hitter. Sinjin Shoop added two hits and two RBIs, including a homer.

Zach Barr had two hits and three RBIs, while Caleb Cardone added three hits. Airin Martin and Riley Lazich added two hits each.

Halfway Memorial Tournament

Valley 9, Conococheague 6

Valley: Ryan Bywaters 2 hits, HR, 4 RBIs; Graham Morrison 2 hits, HR; Jared Durning 2 hits.
