BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - Rachel Amber Long graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in human services from Geneva College on May 10.

Long received the Human Service Scholastic Excellence Award.

She is a 2006 graduate of Cumberland Valley Christian School.

Long is the daughter of Michael and Leta Long of Chambersburg, Pa., and the granddaughter of Charles and Linda Kunkleman of Hagerstown, and Virgil and Rosanna Long.




WINCHESTER, Va. - Kyle Orndorff has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Shenandoah University.

He is majoring in criminal justice.

A freshman, he is a member of the college football team.

He graduated from Smithsburg High School in 2009.




COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Robert Lee Wolfe III of Smithsburg has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the University of Maryland.

He is majoring in English and has been accepted into the Writer's House in the fall.

He is a 2008 graduate of Grace Academy.

He is the son of Bob and Sue Wolfe and the grandson of Robert and Elise Wolfe and Ellis and Peggy Duffy.




BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Steven Patrick Wolfe of Smithsburg has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Bridgewater College.

He is majoring in liberal studies (elementary education) and minoring in music.

He will be returning in the fall and will play lead guitar for the praise band Outspoken.

He is a 2009 graduate of Grace Academy.

He is the son of Bob and Sue Wolfe and the grandson of Robert and Elise Wolfe and Ellis and Peggy Duffy.




ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - Hannah Robinson of Hagerstown has received a Trustees Scholarship to attend Eastern University.

She will major in environmental sciences.

She has been involved in Art Club, Calculus Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, soccer, basketball, and outdoor track and field at North Hagers-town High School.

She is the daughter of Russ and Donna Robinson.




POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The following students were named to the Marist College dean's list for the spring semester.

Hayley A. Harnett of Boonsboro, is a member of the class of 2011 and is majoring in Communication Studies.

Rebecca C. Siguenza of Frederick, Md., is a member of the class of 2011 and is majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing.




MELBOURNE, Fla. - The following students from Florida Institute of Technology were named to the dean's list for the spring semester, which ended in May. They are:

Charles Rahauser of Chambersburg, Pa., a civil engineering major.

Ryan O'Flaherty of Mount Airy, Md., a mechanical engineering major.

Michael Finch of Mount Airy, an electrical engineering major.

Sandra Maina of Williamsport, a meteorology major.




UPLAND, Ind. - The following area residents were among the 500 students who received undergraduate degrees during Taylor University's commencement exercises May 22.

Matt Oliver of Williamsport received a bachelor of science in health and physical education.

Abby Besecker of Chambersburg, Pa., received a bachelor of arts in communication studies.

Hannah Small of Waynesboro, Pa., received a bachelor of science in art education.




The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Christine Repp of Williamsport has been named a student of excellence.

Christine, who attends Williamsport High School, was nominated for the honor by Randy Longnecker, a guidance counselor at the school.

Christine's will appear in the academy's official yearbook.

She is the daughter of Jody and Debbie Repp of Williamsport and the granddaughter of Bob and Hilda Clopper of Cavetown and the late Clarence Sr. and Donna Repp of Hagerstown.




FINDLAY, Ohio - Taylor Donley, of Hagerstown, a preveterinary medicine major, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the University of Findlay. Donley attained a grade-point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale.




UPLAND, Ind. - The following area students were among more than 650 named to the dean's list at Taylor University:

Katie Herman, a sophomore from Greencastle, Pa.

Hannah Small, a senior from Waynesboro, Pa.

Leah Woodrum, a sophomore from Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.




ROLLA, Mo. - John M. Bartel of Greencastle, Pa., graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Bartel earned a graduate certificate degree in contemporary structural engineering.




GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Craig Trueblood of Smithsburg was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Trueblood is studying biology.




SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Seton Hall University:

Brian E. Cordova of Chambersburg, Pa., received a bachelor of arts from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Breen Patrick Patterson of Falling Waters, W.Va., received a bachelor of arts from the Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology.




SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Tyler Austin of Knoxville, Md., was named to Susquehanna University's dean's list for the spring semester.

Austin, a rising junior majoring in music education, is a 2008 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
