Korean War Veterans chapter names new officers

The new 2010-11 officers for Antietam Chapter 312 of the Korean War Veterans Association were elected and installed at the annual meeting July 7.

The newly elected officers are commander Wayne Winebrenner, vice commander Jim Ensminger, second vice commander Ned Renner, secretary Les Bishop and treasurer Don Smith.

Appointed to other chapter officers were judge advocate Carl Paylor, chaplain Wayne Taylor, sargeant-at-arms Pat Patterson and historian Clayton Burkholder. Patterson and John Koontz Sr. will also serve as the member representatives on the chapter's executive committee.

The July chapter meeting also featured the presentation of a proclamation from the Maryland Senate honoring the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War by state Sen. Donald F. Munson.

In addition, the chapter's scholarship winner, Philip Mayhue, was presented a check for $500 as part of his award.
