Morris Frock American Legion Auxiliary awards four scholarships

Morris Frock American Legion Auxiliary Unit 42 recently awarded scholarships to four students pursuing degrees in the education and medical fields.

Recipients of the $500 scholarships are:

o Bethany Garnand, who is attending Lynchburg College. She is pursuing a degree in the medical field

o Rebecca Slate is also working toward a degree in the medical field. She is attending Frostburg State University.

o Timothy Barr will work toward a degree in education. He attended Smithsburg High School.

o Jena Smith, also a Smithsburg High School graduate, will continue her studies seeking a degree in the education field.

The unit welcomes support in its effort to raise funds to award annual scholarships. Those wishing to buy chances for the annual education money raffle can send a check to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 42, Attention: Betty Getz, P.O. Box 1992 Hagerstown, MD 21741-1992. The drawing will be Dec. 7. Tickets cost $1 each.
