Man taken to Frederick hospital after being robbed, beaten

FREDERICK, Md. -- A man was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital on Sunday after he was beaten and robbed in downtown Frederick, according to a news release from the Frederick Police Department.

Six to eight people approached the man in an alley west of the 300 block of North Market Street and demanded money, then beat him, police said.

The assailants removed the man's clothing, which contained a wallet and car keys, and took his shoes, police said.

The man went to the police station around 5:18 a.m. and told dispatchers he'd been robbed "about an hour ago," police said.
