Ebenezer AME Church held its annual Children's Day July 4 with the theme "Let Your Light So Shine" using scripture from Ephesians 6:1-3.
The children and youth of Ebenezer were honored by the elders of the church: Altha S. Chandler, Arnetta Doleman, Mitch Dodson, Patricia "Trish" Johnson, Lucy P. Jones, Cynthia Shepard and Grace Snively.
The morning worship service was rendered by the youth, beginning with the call to worship by Brittany Woods. The morning prayer was given by Tiara Thornton and the missionary offering was given by Laisha Gross. Courtney Harley read the announcements. The Children and Youth Choir, along with Ebenezer's Senior Choir, sang several selections under the direction of Denise Chandler, children's choir director. Sunday School Superintendent Helen Ford also helped with the program.
The message for the morning was delivered by the Rev. Leroy Jackson, church pastor, speaking from Proverbs 22:1-6. He spoke directly to the youth with words of inspiration to let them know, "No matter how old you get, you are still a child of God. Don't ever give up, trust and never doubt because God will bring you out. Always take the Lord with you."
