A section of Md. 68 (Clear Spring Road) at the bridge at Conococheague Creek north of Williamsport will be closed today by the State Highway Administration.
The project is expected to be completed by Sunday night, weather permitting, the SHA said in an e-mailed release.
A dead tree and other debris that is wedged beneath the bridge will be removed to restore normal water flow to the creek, the release said.
The closure of the two-lane road is necessary to provide ample room for a crane on the bridge and to protect motorists and crews, the SHA said.
The $18,000 project was awarded to Hull's Crane Service of Keedysville.
The SHA said it will detour motorists using the following routes:
o Motorists north of the bridge will be detoured north on Md. 68 to Pinesburg Road to Kemps Mill Road to east on Elliott Parkway to south on Md. 63 to Potomac Street back to Md. 68.
