FREDERICK, Md. -- Joey Miller had four hits and three pitchers combined on a three-hitter as Funkstown Post 211 shut out Frederick Post 11 on Wednesday.

J.J. O'Neill, Christian Binford and Dylan Eyler combined to strike out 14 for Funkstown (9-7). Tyeler Presgraves and Trevor Haupt each had two hits.

Perkins scores ace

Russ Perkins, of Boonsboro, scored his first hole-in-one on Thursday, using a 6-iron on the 156-yard No. 3 at Beaver Creek Country Club.

Mercersburg have six named All-America

The Mercersburg Academy boys had six swimmers named to the NISCA/Speedo All-America team.

They were: Tareq Kaaki in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle; Nick Thomson in the 500 free and the 200 freestyle relay team of Linc Kupke, Ty Malone, Kevin Shivers adn Sammy Schalt.

The Blue Storm won the 2010 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships.
