July 07, 2010

FREDERICK, Md. -- A Frederick man died after being ejected from a car Monday night on North Franklinville Road just north of Thurmont, Md., according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Aaron Mack, 22, died of his injuries after being flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, a press release from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.

Another occupant of the vehicle, Cody Hahn, 21, of Thurmont, suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. He also was flown to R Adams Cowley and was in critical condition there Tuesday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The initial investigation showed that the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt in which Hahn and Mack were riding was traveling south on North Franklinville Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and hit two utility poles, several fence posts and a parked vehicle, according to police. The vehicle flipped over and came to rest after striking a house.
