MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ray Elbert Fearnow, 90, of Martinsburg, and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born March 31, 1920, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jesse B. Fearnow and Virgie M. Batt Fearnow.

He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosalie Miller, Eltha Fearnow and Virginia Marie Clark; and two brothers, Jesse B. Fearnow Jr. and Fred Fearnow.

Surviving are his wife, Beulah Manning Fearnow; three nephews, Donald Fearnow and Lynn Miller of Berkeley Springs, and Wayne Miller of Buckhannon, W.Va.; and several other nieces and nephews.

He and his wife formerly owned and operated Riverside Grocery in Hancock, Md., and he formerly was employed by Berkeley Club Bottling Co.

He was of the Protestant faith.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 36 S. Green St., Berkeley Springs.

Services will be Wednesday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Frank Pilcher will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Berkeley Springs.
