Chambersburg man charged with robbing a man at knifepoint
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A Chambersburg, Pa., man has been charged with robbing a man at knifepoint last month, Pennsylvania State Police in Fulton County said.
David A. Hippensteel, 26, no address given, was charged with first-, second- and third-degree robbery, misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, theft, simple assault and receiving stolen property, and two summary counts of harassment, police said.
At 10:45 p.m. June 24, an unidentified 26-year-old Limerick, Pa., man was walking on Lincoln Way East when he was approached from behind by a man who hit him on the shoulder, threatened him with a knife and demanded money, police said. The man took $75 from the victim, police said.
Hippensteel was taken into custody later that night, police said. On June 25, he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott and jailed in Franklin County Jail on $30,000 bail, police said.
