We must vote out 'incompetents' in D.C.

To the editor:

I am writing to urge hardworking and overtaxed Americans to vote out the "incompetents" known as Congress and the Obama administration.

The elections of 2010 and 2012 are the most critical of any previous elections and will ultimately decide the fate of the country in which we live.

As you might recall, Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker were notorious bank robbers in the 1930s. The 21st-century Bonnie (Nancy Pelosi) and Clyde (Obama) are also robbers, but in a way that is far more dangerous than the originals were.

Bonnie and Clyde had only one purpose. That was to get rich quickly by robbing banks. Pelosi and Obama also have only one purpose and that is to retain power as long as possible by whatever means they can. They are creating legislation that will change the very nature of the United States. They must be stopped before it's too late.

Obama has referred to the changes that he envisions for our government. What they mean is the legislation that he and Pelosi are pushing through Congress will inhibit and destroy the free enterprise system and promote a more socialistic welfare type of government.

Our great country was founded on the basis of privilege that the individual has the right to regulate his/her own life without government interference. This God-given right as expressed in our constitution will promote self-reliance and enable each individual to achieve the best possible life for themselves.

Wake up, America. Pelosi and Obama must go or our children and grandchildren will pay a high price in the future.

Korean War program at HCC was outstanding

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding program that Antietam Chapter 312 of the Korean War Veterans Association sponsored Saturday, June 26, at Hagerstown Community College.

There was a lot of effort and hard work put into this program by the members of this organization. My wife and I enjoyed the afternoon. Thanks again for providing the community with an outstanding program.

Military veterans of the Korean War like myself will not be forgotten thanks to a program of this type.
