Women in the FBI

Allison-Antrim Museum will hold a mid-summer meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 8, in the downstairs social room of Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St, Greencastle, Pa..

July's guest speaker is Athena Varounis, retired F.B.I. supervisory special agent. She will discuss "Women in the F.B.I."

The meeting is free and open to the public. Donations benefit the Allison-Antrim Museum's annual speaker series.

Frederick County libraries change hours

FREDERICK, Md. -- During its June meeting, the board of trustees of Frederick County Public Libraries voted to accept staff recommendations to reduce the hours of operation.

New hours of operation: C. Burr Artz, Urbana and Thurmont (regional libraries) 10 a.m. to8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

o Brunswick, Emmitsburg, Middletown, Walkersville (community branches) 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, closed Friday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to5 p.m. Saturday.

o Edward F. Fry Memorial Library at Point of Rocks 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday, closed Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

o The Maryland Room will operate with reduced hours of service. New hours are 10 a.m. to7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday.

o The C. Burr Artz Technology Center will close on Saturday, July 31.

T.E.A. Party rally planned

A T.E.A. Party rally will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the Washington County Courthouse, corner of North Potomac and West Washington streets, Hagerstown. Bring signs. Go to http://www.hagerstownteaparty.org.

Hospice training scheduled

Hospice of Washington County Inc. has scheduled a summer volunteer training program. The course will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, through Thursday, July 29.

The first session in each is an overview of the Hospice Concept of care is open to the public.Hospice offers support services from certified nursing aides, social workers, chaplain and volunteers for the patients and families who need end-of-life care.

Program for couples and singles

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Salem Ridge Community Church will host a video series for couples and singles from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, July 14 through Aug. 18, at Salem Ridge Community Church, 441 Pensinger Road.

The "Love & Respect" video series with Emerson Eggerichs is for singles and couples interested in building relationships.
