Fireworks planned in city, Williamsport



Music and fireworks are planned in Hagerstown and Williamsport this weekend.

Fireworks are scheduled the Fourth of July at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown, along with live entertainment from Mary Lou and the Untouchables. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m.

A fireworks display is also planned Sunday in Williamsport at Byron Memorial Park. Events are scheduled throughout the day starting with a pancake breakfast and ending with the fireworks at 9 p.m.

Fish for free



Anyone can fish in Maryland's freshwaters without a fishing license on Sunday, the Fourth of July.

City Park concert series



The Hagerstown Municipal Band will perform Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Peter Buys Bandshell in Hagerstown City Park. The event is free. For more information, call 301-739-8577, ext. 183, or 1-717-263-4595.

Christmas in July



Christmas in July will be Saturday, July 10, when the Classic Car Group for Children Inc. gathers at Valley Mall from 3 to 8 p.m.

Bring a new toy, canned food or a $5 donation and see the display of classic cars in the mall parking lot by Macy's. Rain date will be Saturday, July 31.

Music by the Lake



The annual summer concert series featuring a variety of regional artists will be held at Hagerstown City Park, beginning Saturday, July 17.

Concerts will be held each Saturday through Aug. 7. The concerts are in the bandshell, starting at 7 p.m. The event is free.

Allegany Dental Care



On June 12, the doctors, staff and family members of Allegany Dental Care volunteered at Brook Lane to help with the children's games at Brook Lane's annual Scoops & Wickets Family Fun Day.

The staff also participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life on June 18 and 19.

The group exceeded its $5,000 goal.
