MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Police seized 18 straw packets of heroin and 20 oxycodone pills from a Martinsburg-area couple who were arrested Monday evening in the area of Clover Street, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.
Jessie Leigh Keesecker, 24, and Donald Leroy Telfer III, 34, both of 53 Lillian Way, were in Eastern Regional Jail on Tuesday night on counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin, conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver oxycodone, a prescribed narcotic, according to court records.
Magistrate Harry L. Snow set a $125,000 bond for both defendants, according to court records.
The couple was arrested by West Virginia State Police Trooper C.S. Maynard, who spotted them about 6:30 p.m. in a parking lot just west of Clover Street, records show.
Maynard said in a complaint filed in magistrate court that Keesecker got out of a Chevrolet Blazer and went into a wooded area just south of the parking lot after Telfer spotted the trooper while standing outside the vehicle, according to court records.
