June 30, 2010

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- The Lakewood BlueClaws rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday night to beat the Hagerstown Suns 2-1.

Brian Gump greeted Suns closer Dean Weaver (1-2) with a triple to center. After Jeremy Barnes lined out to shortstop Eury Perez, Adam Buschini tied the game with an RBI double to left.

Anthony Hewitt then popped out, before Jiwan James hit a walk-off double to center.

The comeback spoiled a fine outing by Suns starter Paul Demny, who pitched seven shutout innings. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five.

Hagerstown took a 1-0 lead in the second as Justin Bloxom led off the inning with a home run to center, his sixth of the season.
