Big Pool man killed in U.S. 40 accident

BIG POOL -- A Big Pool man was found dead Sunday morning after the pickup truck he was driving left U.S. 40 near Big Pool, hit a guardrail and flipped over, according to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The driver was ejected from the GMC 3500 pickup during the accident and was found dead by emergency medical personnel, according to the news release.

The driver was Jeffrey Clarence Stine, 43, of 13147 Indian Springs Road north of Big Pool, Sgt. James Grimm said.

The sheriff's office responded to the accident call shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The pickup was heading west on U.S. 40, east of Ernstville Road, when it went off the road, hit the guardrail, and overturned end over end multiple times, ejecting the driver, police said.

The pickup came to stop in the front yard of 12037 Ernstville Road, police said.
